The Road

The road knows my life
The road listened to my cries
It is always their
It can take me any were
The road knows stories
But it will never tell
Sometimes it can calm me
It has often hurt me
The road can bring me home
Sometimes a place I don’t won’t to go
It takes people away
Often people never stay
The road takes them away
One day this road will take me away
To a far off place were my heart can play
For here in this place it’s like jail
I am tied to this place I have no way out
Not now I can’t
Ties can be loved ties are here for a reason
Sometimes we don’t know why
But when they are gone that’s when
That’s when I need to go on
So when will the road take me away
To this brand new place
